Princess Kate demonstrated an effortless style while attending the 2023 Diplomatic Reception at Buckingham Palace on Tuesday, December 5. Her sartorial choice is notable since it follows reports naming her as one of two alleged "royal racists" in the Dutch version of Endgame by Omid Scobie. However, none of the versions of the book have included her name thus far.

The Princess of Wales, aged 41, elegantly weathered the storm of controversy by wearing the Cambridge Lover’s Knot tiara and a stunning pink sequin gown by Jenny Packham. This ensemble is one of the most glamorous in her fashion repertoire. The eye-catching ensemble was complemented by the diamond Greville Chandelier earrings, previously owned by the late Queen Elizabeth II.

The entire look was not new - Kate had worn the same Jenny Packham dress and jewelry to the royal wedding reception of Jordan's Crown Prince Hussein and Rajwa Al Saif in June. The repeat was well-received and she once again made a dazzling appearance while engaging with the diplomats serving the United Kingdom worldwide.

This appearance comes amidst a storm of controversy following the alleged Dutch translation of Omid Scobie’s book. The book reportedly claims that she and King Charles III held discussions about the potential skin color of Archie, unborn son of Meghan Markle, who is married to Prince Harry.

So far, neither Princess Kate nor Charles, aged 75, have responded to these allegations. They continued with their royal duties, appearing regal at the diplomatic reception. Earlier that day, Kate also inaugurated a new surgical wing at Evelina Children’s Hospital in London, an organization she patronizes, where she met with patients and their parents.

The contentious Dutch version of Endgame, which has been since removed from the shelves, reportedly mentioned their names. Omid, however, asserted that he never mentioned them and any inclusion was due to translation inaccuracies.

There's a part of the book that says, “Even after Meghan and Charles expressed concerns over presumed implicit bias within the family after it was discovered that [redacted] engaged in such discussions about Archie, [redacted] has evaded discussing the subject with [redacted].”

Omid conveyed to RTL Boulevard on November 29 that he was not fluent in Dutch following the appearance of Charles' section. He assured that any translation errors would be handled by the publishers. “I wrote and edited the English version. I have never produced a version that includes names,” he added. A segment implying Kate’s name surfaced on social media the next day.

Meghan, 42, first sparked controversy by alleging during a March 2021 interview that there had been “discussions” and “concerns” about her son Archie's skin color while she was pregnant. She chose not to name the person involved, claiming it would hurt them severely and the conversation was relayed by her husband.

Harry, 39, reiterated the allegations but stated the conversation occurred while they were still dating, before their marriage. Like his wife, he also refused to name the individual, adding, “That conversation, I am never going to share” and “At the time, it was awkward, I was a bit shocked.”
