Lil Nas X is making headlines after reports surfaced that he was allegedly arrested in Los Angeles following a troubling incident that left fans concerned for his well-being.

According to People, a spokesperson for the Los Angeles Police Department confirmed that officers responded to reports of a man “nude in the street” on Ventura Blvd. just before 6 a.m. on Thursday, August 21. “The suspect allegedly went on to batter an officer, so he was booked for battery on a [peace officer],” the LAPD spokesperson explained. “The suspect was taken to the hospital for treatment; once he is released, he will be charged and go through the booking process.”

The LAPD spokesperson did not identify the man, but TMZ reported that it was Lil Nas X. The outlet also published photos showing the 26-year-old rapper wearing only underwear and cowboy boots while walking through the area around 4 a.m.

TMZ further reported that multiple calls were made to police that night regarding a possible overdose, though the LAPD spokesperson did not confirm those details. The outlet also obtained video of Lil Nas X walking along Ventura Blvd., at one point pointing toward a passing car and mentioning he was heading to a party. He was also seen placing a bright orange traffic cone on his head.

Eyewitnesses told TMZ the situation looked alarming enough that several people in Studio City called police. Law enforcement sources told the outlet that while charges remain possible, the musician is currently being treated in the hospital.

The reports come months after Lil Nas X, born Montero Hill, shared with fans that he had been hospitalized earlier this year. In April, he posted a video to Instagram from a hospital bed, revealing he was suffering from facial paralysis. “Guys I am OK!! Stop being sad for me! Shake Ur ass for me instead!” he wrote, later reassuring fans that he was recovering.

Lil Nas X rose to fame in 2019 with the breakout success of “Old Town Road,” and his debut album Montero earned him a Grammy nomination for Album of the Year in 2022. In recent months, he released singles including “Light Again!” and “Hotbox,” as well as the EP Days Before Dreamboy.

For now, details surrounding the latest incident remain unclear.
