Danielle Fishel lässt ihre komplette „DWTS“-Vorbereitung fallen und gewährt einen Einblick in die Hautpflegemarke, die sie seit zwei Jahrzehnten benutzt.
Best known to a generation of viewers as the whip-smart Topanga Lawrence on Boy Meets World and its sequel Girl Meets World, Danielle Fishel has quietly built a career that extends well beyond the sitcom soundstage.
Currently on her agenda: Channeling her passion for beauty and wellness into her latest venture: Be Free by Danielle Fishel, a clean, affordable haircare line formulated for all hair types. Available online and via QVC, the brand reflects Fishel’s commitment to accessibility and quality, resonating with women navigating the demands of work, family and self-care.
Beyond acting, Fishel has established herself as a director, with credits spanning more than 50 episodes of multi-camera television, including Raven’s Home, Wizards Beyond Waverly Place and Lopez vs Lopez. She also co-hosts Pod Meets World, the popular iHeart podcast she shares with former co-stars Rider Strong and Will Friedle, offering a candid, behind-the-scenes look at their shared television past. And, also on the September schedule, a not-so-small gig on Dancing With the Stars.
Offscreen, Fishel has been open about her recent breast cancer diagnosis and treatment, using her platform to advocate for early detection and proactive health screenings—adding yet another layer of purpose to a career marked by both reinvention and resilience.
“It is so hard for me to fall asleep. I normally live for sleep…but I come home at the end of a long day and my brain just will not shut off. I’m counting steps in my head, reminding myself to keep my shoulders down and reviewing tape to help me be better the next day. My 9 p.m. bedtime is a lot closer to midnight these days.”
“Yesterday was a fairly typical day. I woke up at 5:30 a.m. and drank some water and had my coffee. I stretched for 30 minutes before my kids woke up and then I made their lunches and my husband took them to school. I had a 9:30 phone call with my Be Free by Danielle Fishel team while I drove to Burbank to host my Danielle with the Stars podcast where I interviewed Jenna Johnson. At 11:30, I left for Los Angeles for my noon wardrobe fitting. Dance rehearsal was from 1 to 5 p.m., and then I went to an iHeart podcasts dinner in Beverly Hills. I left the dinner at 8 p.m., and went to see my chiropractor, Dr. Joey Nguyen, who helped align my hips because they were bothering me after 10 days of dance rehearsal! Then, I came home and iced my very sore hamstring for 20 minutes and then took an Epsom salt bath. I went to bed around midnight and got up again today at 5!”
“When I was a kid, my hair was stick-straight and got very blond in the sun. As I aged, my hair texture became a little more coarse and it suddenly had wave. It is also darker and doesn’t lighten in the sun as easily.”
“When I found out I was pregnant with my oldest son, Adler, I knew it was time to start paying attention to what the ingredients were in my cosmetics. I was unhappy with the rating of my current products so I asked a lot of friends if they had any recommendations, and everyone told me they were either using something they didn’t like or they were still using products they knew had iffy ingredients because at least they knew the products worked. I was shocked it was so difficult to find something that doesn’t have scary ingredients but that is also efficacious. That’s when I realized that if I felt this way about what was available, other people did too and that’s what made me want to start Be Free by Danielle Fishel.”
“ILIA Skin Tint, Merit mascara, Vaseline and SkinCeuticals; I’ve been using it for almost 20 years and I swear by it!”
