Promi-Exes, die Hunde gemeinsam erziehen - Ant McPartlin und Lisa Armstrong bis hin zu Dan Edgar und Amber Turner - OK! Magazin
Celebrity break-ups are nothing new - but for some famous exes, they shared a furry friend - and their pet has remained their highest priority, with many going on to co-parent, despite their personal circumstances.
Ant McPartlin and his ex-wife, Lisa Armstrong split in 2018, but their beloved Labrador, Hurley, goes between each of their houses. And it’s not just these two who share responsibility for their dogs, as other celebs , including Love Islanders Molly Smith and Callum Jones, have had to work out how to parent their beloved pooches…
Ant McPartlin’s ex, Lisa Armstrong, is reportedly seeking full custody of their beloved Labrador, Hurley, as Ant adjusts to fatherhood with his new wife, Anne-Marie. Award-winning make-up artist Lisa and the Britain’s Got Talent co-host welcomed Hurley into their lives during their relationship. However, following their split in 2018 after 11 years of marriage, they are said to have decided on a shared custody arrangement for Hurley.
Currently, Hurley splits his time between Lisa’s home and Ant and Anne-Marie’s. Lisa is now reported to be seeking full-time custody of Hurley, who has been described as her “lifeline” by a source. Ant recently welcomed his first child – a baby boy called Wilder. But fans were confused after he posted a snap announcing Wilder’s birth, as a huge tree tattoo dominated his arm featuring family members’ names – apparently minus Hurley. Ant soon put their minds at ease, sharing on Instagram, “Glad you loved the tattoo as well. For all you dog lovers who asked why my beloved Hurley wasn’t on the family tree… he was!! He was just covered by our newborn. All my love, gratitude and heartfelt thanks A.”
Former Love Island couple Molly Smith and Callum Jones dated for three years after starring on the show together. Fans were shocked when they split in September 2023 but they both went on to star on Love Island All Stars this year. And Molly has now moved on with Tom Clare, who she met on the show. However, Molly and Callum shared two dogs together, and in the end, they each decided to take custody of the dog they had taken into the relationship – leaving Molly with their Pomeranian, Nelly, and Callum with Winnie the pug.
Vanderpump Rules stars Tom Sandoval and Ariana Madix split in March 2023 after nine years together when it emerged that Tom had had an affair with a castmate. Things were mostly amicable between the pair and they even lived under the same roof for a while, as they co-parented their dog, named Mya.
However, it seems that things have since soured between the two, as in part two of the reunion of Vanderpump Rules, Tom told host Andy Cohen that Ariana had taken custody of their dog. Tom said, “There was no discussion, it was just ruled she was taking it.” In response, Ariana claimed it was her who “purchased” Mya and said she also has custody of a cat called Kitty.
Former TOWIE couple Dan Edgar and Amber Turner endured a tumultuous relationship for six years, before finally calling it a day in May 2023. After their bitter break-up, Amber took custody of their adorable goldendoodle, Oliver. Then in April this year there were emotional scenes on The Only Way Is Essex, when Amber was seen crying as she handed over the dog to Dan, before moving to Dubai to start a new life.
Speaking exclusively to OK! back in March, Dan revealed awkwardly that he had “cut contact” with his ex, saying, “I don’t think there should or can be a friendship there”. We don’t imagine there will be any shared walks in the park, then!
