Dolly Parton's Reason for Avoiding Texting Revealed by Vanity Fair
Written by Kase Wickman
Dolly Parton keeps marching to the beat of her own drum, making it clear she doesn't care about popular opinion. She's given the perfect excuse for disregarding text messaging: "I'm a low-tech girl in a high-tech world". This statement was made on The Drew Barrymore Show on Monday. She further explained, "I don’t want to talk to anybody that wants to chat with me. I don’t send text messages as I don’t wish to respond."
Indeed, the 77-year-old superstar isn't going to text anyone back. If she did, she wouldn't mind leaving you on read. Whether she's taking your call is also not a guarantee.
"If someone rings me, I answer if I’m in the mood to talk or I’ll get back to them when it suits me," She expressed, "Otherwise, I’ve got too much going on to burden my mind with anything else."
Parton claims to be too occupied for excessive phone usage. "I simply don’t have the luxury of sitting with my nose in the phone throughout the day," she explained, "I’m far from being unintelligent. I could adapt if I wished to, but I prefer just to use my fax machine and forward my creative concepts to my team."
Referring to the fax machine, it happens to be true. In the month of May, Bebe Rexha spoke about collaborating with Parton on a track. Parton requested her not only to produce a physical CD of the proposed tune but also send her a fax message. Kelly Clarkson, who has also worked with Parton, verified this fact.
“Presenting a bold fact, she still sends faxes,” stated Clarkson about Parton. “You’ll have to dispatch a bird for that one, like a pigeon.”
Earlier in the month, Parton was accepted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. We presume the invitation must have been delivered using traditional snail mail.
