From Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, Manchester City's long spell of not scoring or winning came to an end on Friday night with a 1-0 triumph in the fourth round of the FA Cup.

Both teams put up a rather dull performance, but it was Manchester City who scored their first goal on Spurs' home ground since it was opened in 2019.

Ange Postecoglou's team saw the return of James Maddison but couldn't stop their year-long domestic trophy drought from extending further.

City was hopeful when Oscar Bobb scored what would have been their first-ever goal at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. However, this was thwarted after Guglielmo Vicario fumbled a shot from Julian Alvarez and it was deemed offside after a prolonged VAR check, sparing Spurs some embarrassment.

City dominated the first half, effectively choking Spurs and denying them any shots in the first 45 minutes.

After the break, City missed yet another grand opportunity. Alvarez's shot was blocked by a last-second challenge from Micky van de Ven, following Bobb's deep cross that had avoided every Tottenham defender.

City was given another chance late in the game when Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg gave away possession, leading to a shot by Bernardo Silva, which was unluckily straight at Vicario.

Seconds later, Hojbjerg was spared again when Kevin De Bruyne missed a clear shot.

A low save from Vicario stopped Jeremy Doku, as City increased their efforts for a late victory.

Just as the game was nearing its end, City scored their first ever winning goal at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. A corner kick by De Bruyne was weakly punched away by Vicario, allowing Nathan Ake to push the ball over the line.

Victorious players of the match include Guglielmo Vicario with a score of 7/10 for his impressive saves, and Nathan Ake for the winning goal and an 8/10 score.

On the other hand, Tottenham's Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg scored 5/10 and Rodrigo Bentancur earned a 6/10 for their lack of prowess in the game.

Substitutes included James Maddison, Oliver Skipp, Dane Scarlett with respective scores of 5/10 and N/A.

Manchester City's goalkeeper Stefan Ortega brings home a 6/10 for his quick reflexes, despite a rather uneventful game. Other members such as Kyle Walker, Ruben Dias, and Rodri also shined with scores of 7/10.
