Sir Jim Ratcliffe is set to join the audience at Old Trafford on Sunday, where he will witness a match between Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur.

Ratcliffe has negotiated an agreement to purchase a quarter stake in the Red Devils - an arrangement currently pending the Premier League's final sign off, a procedure anticipated to last several additional weeks.

In the meantime, Ratcliffe has been observing United with the aid of INEOS associate, Sir Dave Brailsford, who has been in attendance at previous matches. Upon the formal completion of the transaction, Brailsford will assume a position on the new board of directors.

As mentioned by Ben Jacobs, Ratcliffe's inaugural appearance at Old Trafford will take place on Sunday, during the significant match against Tottenham.

Heading into the game, United stands ninth in the Premier League, just behind Chelsea in terms of goal difference. They are currently trailing Tottenham by eight points, who are in fifth place and could potentially break into the top four with a win this weekend.

In the forthcoming weeks, it is anticipated that Ratcliffe will publically address the fans, who are keen to hear from the soon-to-be overseer of football affairs at Old Trafford.

United's manager, Erik ten Hag, recently expressed admiration for Ratcliffe and his vision for the club, stating, 'It is an inspiration. Everyone is optimistic. However, there is a lot of work ahead. Despite several setbacks over the summer, we were making progress. It is a project and a journey, and although we must contend with these setbacks, we will endure and make a comeback.'
