Manchester City emerged victorious against RB Leipzig in the Champions League match, winning 3-1 and securing their position at the top of Group G.

In the first half, City dominated the game with impressive passing and a secure defense. They took the lead with a goal from Phil Foden, who converted Rico Lewis' cross from the right flank by striking the ball into the top corner.

In the second half, RB Leipzig equalized through Lois Openda's calm finish. However, City's Julian Alvarez, who came off the bench, scored a crucial late goal with a wonderful strike. In added time, Jeremy Doku sealed the victory with his first European goal for City, assisted by Alvarez.

Prior to the match, there was speculation about City's struggles in away games against Leipzig. However, they displayed their usual composure and controlled the ball, enjoying 88% possession in the opening ten minutes.

City created the first opportunity, with Lewis' effort blocked and Bernardo Silva unable to redirect the ball into the goal. But after 26 minutes, Foden met Lewis' cross and scored, giving City a deserved lead at halftime.

Despite the narrow scoreline, City remained in control throughout the first half. Leipzig struggled to threaten City's goal without their talisman Dani Olmo.

In the second half, Leipzig unexpectedly equalized with Openda's goal. Foden's deliveries caused trouble for Leipzig, nearly setting up Erling Haaland on two occasions and hitting the bar with a free-kick.

But City's substitutions proved decisive. Alvarez and Doku combined for the winning goal, with Alvarez curling an impressive shot into the net. In stoppage time, Doku returned the favor, setting up Alvarez for an assist, and Doku himself scored to secure all three points for City.

Overall, it was a solid performance from City, with standout performances from Lewis and Silva. Ederson had little to do in goal, while Akanji and Dias held the defense steady. Gvardiol, who faced his former club, impressed at left-back. Rodri provided stability in midfield.
