A woman has told how she helped her husband father her best friend's child in what she says was the best decision she has ever made. When Kimberley Allen married husband Jamie the couple knew they could be facing a future without children. The 33-year-old had longed to be a mother all her life but after several heartbreaking miscarriages she had abandon the hope of having children. She and Jamie, 35, had come to terms with the reality that they might never have children of their own.

Then Becki, also 33 and Kimberley's closest friend, handed them an incredible lifeline - the chance to parent a child who would biologically belong to both Jamie and herself. Kimberley, from Portsmouth, said: 'For a moment, I thought I'd misheard her but I hadn't.'

She said the pair were so stunned at the generous offer they sat in silence before quizzing her over what she actually meant, reports Wales Online. Kimberley added: 'Becki said she wanted to be a surrogate for us, which cleared up things.'

She added: 'My child being biologically hers just made our bond even closer. I just remember feeling so happy that I had helped my husband impregnate my best friend a sentence I never thought I'd say.'

Kimberley and Becki, have shared an inseparable bond since school days. Diagnosed with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) at the age of 15, Kimberley, who works as a canine fertility specialist, was warned early on that she would find it challenging to conceive children.

She shared: 'Being a mum was my biggest dream in life. I turned to Becki for comfort and we remained the best of friends, even when she went on to have three children of her own.

'I was so pleased for her, and I wasn't envious at all. I stopped wondering when or if it would happen for me.'

However, thanks to Becki's selfless act, they were able to start their journey to parenthood in February 2022. Without the need for a surrogacy agency, the trio took matters into their own hands at home.

Jamie provided his sperm in a cup. Kimberley then injected it into Becki using a liquid medicine syringe. On their third try, the couple's dream finally started to become a reality. Kimberley said: 'I couldn't believe it, I was completely speechless when Becki showed us the positive pregnancy test.

'All our friends and family were so supportive and each kick felt like a tiny miracle. While all eyes were on Becki and her bump, I didn't feel jealous in the slightest.'

In October 2022, Becki gave birth to adorable Roxanne Nicola Allen, who is now two. And their happy family is now complete.

Kimberley further added: 'I fell head over heels in love with my baby girl. I couldn't believe that we were finally parents it still feels surreal. There are no words to describe how thankful I am to Becki.

'I had always considered her my sister, but now there really is a piece of her DNA in my family. Our daughter looks very much like me when I was young no one would ever know or question it if I didn't tell them.

'I thought my dream of being a mum had been taken away from me for good. She made it finally come 'true'.'
