Manchester United bounced back from their recent Premier League slump with a 1-0 victory over Brentford at Old Trafford on Wednesday night, thanks to a superb goal from Marcus Rashford in the first half.

The home side started with high tempo and good energy, aiming to recover from their defeat against Newcastle over the weekend, and put Brentford under pressure from the outset with several early corners. However, Brentford remained compact and reluctant to press, forcing United to be creative and inventive.

It wasn't until midway through the first half that United's efforts paid off, as good work from Diogo Dalot and Antony on the right set up Scott McTominay for a shot, which flew narrowly over. Soon after, Marcel Sabitzer nodded the ball square into the path of Rashford, who made no mistake in finishing from close range to score the decisive goal.

Despite their dominance, United were unable to add to their lead in the second half, and Brentford posed a threat when Kevin Schade went through on goal, only to be foiled by a smart save from David de Gea.

Although Brentford made some late attempts to equalize, United held on to secure the victory, with Rashford receiving a 9/10 rating for his outstanding performance. The win will help to boost United's confidence ahead of their upcoming fixtures.
