Erling Haaland has equalled the 38-game Premier League season scoring record by scoring two goals in Manchester City's 3-1 victory over Leicester on Saturday. The Norwegian striker now has 32 goals, just two away from the division's all-time scoring record, jointly held by Alan Shearer and Andy Cole. City took just five minutes to score, with John Stones hitting a half-volley from a corner to find the top corner of the goal. VAR spotted a handball by Wilfred Ndidi, which gifted Haaland a penalty to score his second goal. Haaland then scored his second goal of the day by dinking over Daniel Iversen following a perfect Kevin De Bruyne through-ball. Leicester managed to score a consolation goal through Kelechi Iheanacho after Harry Souttar's header was palmed into his path by Ederson.

Guardiola made two big changes during the interval, withdrawing both Stones and Haaland to keep them fresh, as Riyad Mahrez nearly injected some energy with an excellent curling effort from outside the box. Leicester had opportunities to score, but the difference in quality was apparent as they were never getting back into the game.
