The dance queen Kaitlyn Bristowe, best known as an alum of The Bachelorette, has been using dance to convey messages through choreography whilst listening to songs with hidden messages. This comes in the aftermath of her split from ex-fiancé Jason Tartick. Bristowe shared an Instagram video of her interpretative dance to a quote featuring in Beyoncé’s “Flawless,” from Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, just a day after Jason seemingly snubbed her in his birthday message. She was quick to deny any intentions of throwing shade at Jason via her dance, contrary to views held by a section of her followers on Instagram.

She defended her Wednesday, October 25, Instagram post by urging her followers to take note of the message she was trying to get across with her video.

Bristowe, 38, dances with two women playing back up. The song lyrics playing in the background read: “You should aim to be successful/ But not too successful/ Otherwise.../ Because I am female.... I am expected to make my life choices/ Always keeping in mind that/ Marriage is the most important."). The video ends with Bristowe taking off her engagement ring and throwing it down, which elicited varied responses from her followers.

There was a split in opinion within the comments section of the post: a small portion were critical of Bristowe while others encouraged her to go all out with her message.

“The ring toss – there’s empowerment and there’s ignorance. How mean,” wrote one person. “.... come on girl, Jason always supported you, while still trying to build his own path. Acquire some taste,” said a second.

Bristowe used Instagram Stories to clarify the intention of her dance in response to the massive feedback she received. She chose not to name Jason, but emphasized intentions of empowering other women, not slandering a specific individual.

In a succeeding video, Bristowe was visibly overwhelmed by her "large feelings" and confessed to struggling to express them. She stated categorically that her dance was not targeted at anyone.

Bristowe's post follows Jason Tartick's cryptic birthday message on Instagram. He'd shared: “Dear 35, you’re off to a great start, please be better than 34." paired with images of his European vacation.

The once-beloved couple openly ended their two-year engagement on August 6 and shared their heartbreaking news with close companions and family. Jason transferred out of their shared Nashville residence into his own nearby property later that month. Kaitlyn was candid about her disapproval of Jason's moves in a podcast episode of her "Off the Vine".
