Gerry Turner from Golden Bachelor Expresses Excitement for 'Golden Bachelorette' Spinoff
Gerry Turner, the star of The Golden Bachelor, is fully supportive of a Golden Bachelorette spinoff and has expressed thoughts on which of his former love interests should play the lead role.
"Just to clarify, I don’t have a say in this. However, I think it would be thrilling as it continues the narrative we’ve begun about being hopeful and visible at our advanced age," Gerry, who is 72, said in an interview with People released on Thursday, November 9. "I'm hopeful it will happen."
Gerry hopes that one of the 22 women who vied for his affection will have a chance to take on the lead role, but he struggled to pick his top choice for the Golden Bachelorette.
"All 22 women are exceptional. I can't single one of them out," he claimed. “Every one of them has a unique personality that would make the show engaging and appealing. They're all brains, so there isn’t a wrong decision.”
Faith Martin is a leading contender, despite being eliminated from the program in an emotional episode on November 9 following hometown dates. Faith, 60, showed hints she was open to the idea of being pursued by several eligible bachelors, despite not finding love with Gerry.
“I have faith in the process,” Faith remarked after her elimination. “I’ve experienced its success and lived it. I know that you can develop such emotions in a brief period, and I trust the producers.”
Gerry told People that Faith would be a fantastic choice for the Golden Bachelorette during his conversation with them. However, he conceded that he didn't have any practical guidance for her if she was chosen to headline the spinoff.
"Faith doesn't require any advice from me. She’s got everything under control," he stated. "She knows her objectives. She understands her limitations. Yes, she doesn't require any guidance from me."
Jesse Palmer, host of The Golden Bachelorette, is yet to be announced, but has also expressed interest in hosting the spinoff.
“Obviously, I can’t represent executives or anyone else,” Jesse, 45, told E! News in October. “Everyone’s probably waiting to see the outcome of this one first. But I know that there are thousands of deserving women across America.”
Anticipation for a spinoff from viewers is projected to rise as the debut season of The Golden Bachelor continues, according to Jesse. "As the show progresses, you learn more about these ladies, their experiences," Jesse said. "I expect there's going to be a surge in support calling for a Golden Bachelorette. That's my personal take."
Jesse, who is a popular television personality, also proposed that the series consider establishing a Bachelor in Paradise spinoff called Golden Paradise, which could be shot in Naples, Florida. Jesse said, "It would be perfect; I can already envision the group dates."
