Player ratings: Fulham's dominant 3-0 victory over Tottenham at Craven Cottage
Tottenham Hotspur squandered the opportunity to climb to fourth place in the Premier League after experiencing a 3-0 defeat to Fulham.
The home team silenced their guests throughout the match and thoroughly deserved their victory which halted Spurs' streak of seven successive league wins at Craven Cottage.
This loss also marked the end of Tottenham's impressive run of scoring in every league match under Ange Postecoglou, a record consisting of 39 games.
The victory strengthens Fulham's late-season bid for a European spot, bringing them to within five points of the top seven.
The game saw a near-miss from Fulham within two minutes after Tottenham lost possession mid-field. The initial shot from Rodrigo Muniz in the penalty area was blocked by Cristian Romero, and Andreas Pereira's follow-up shot deflected narrowly wide of the goal.
Spurs' goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario successfully intercepted a low cross from Alex Iwobi, but Pereira was back again for another shot. Unfortunately for Fulham, Romero was there for another key block.
Fulham lost another opportunity when a low cross from Antonee Robinson went past Muniz, but Tottenham was quick to counterattack. This allowed Son Heung-min to take an ambitious shot, which went marginally over.
In another fluid Spurs attack, Brennan Johnson was served a fantastic pass from James Maddison but Bernd Leno easily caught his first shot. Soon after, a similar chance was squandered by Radu Dragusin, whose shot went wide.
Tottenham came very close to scoring within the first half hour, but Destiny Udogie's cross, directed towards the goal by Maddison, narrowly missed the goal after hitting the post and Leno's water bottle.
Just before half-time, Muniz, assisted by a superb cross from Robinson, gave Fulham the lead.
The home team then doubled their lead shortly after the interval. A cross from Timothy Castagne misguided Tottenham and Sasa Lukic ended up turning the ball into his own net.
Fulham added a third after an hour when Calvin Bassey's initial shot hit the post, but Muniz managed to scramble the rebound into the net.
Soon after, Fulham thought they had scored a fourth goal through Joao Palhinha's powerful shot, but his teammate Raul Jimenez was offside, causing the goal to be cancelled.
On the opposite end, Johnson missed a precious opportunity for Spurs to reduce the deficit when his flick went wide off Son Heung-min's cross. Video replay suggested the goal might have been ruled out anyway for offside.
Soon after, Johnson set up a shot for Timo Werner whose point-blank miss echoed his own earlier. A knockdown from Dejan Kulusevski to Richarlison went wide and another shot by Harry Wilson saved by Vicario, ran out the clock.
