FROM STAMFORD BRIDGE - Arsenal's arrival on Saturday could have been a game-changer in the Mauricio Pochettino period at Chelsea.

The Blues appeared energetic and recharged from the start, quickly driving the Gunners into mistakes within the first minute. A VAR review leading to a penalty had them in control by the 15th minute.

Cole Palmer confidently converted the penalty, putting the home team in the lead and causing a shift in their strategy - giving Arsenal possession and letting them frustrate themselves.

This approach proved effective in the first half. It was largely up to Declan Rice to lead his team's offense, with Jorginho and captain Martin Odegaard lacking the initiative to make things happen themselves.

Further up, Gabriel Jesus was energetically unproductive, while Gabriel Martinelli was ineffectual at exploiting the gradually diminishing space behind Malo Gusto. Bukayo Saka was effectively stifled by Marc Cucurella's relentless defense.

The second half began even more promisingly for Chelsea. Mykhailo Mudryk, once again electrifying, and finally coming into form in England, overhit a weak-footed cross. Fortunately, it found David Raya well off his mark and snuck in under the crossbar.

From that point forward, the signs of a hard-fought but comfortable 2-0 victory were clear. Arsenal created some opportunities but none were clear-cut, time seemed to speed up, and Chelsea seemed to grow in self-belief both with and without possession. It was expected to end quietly and uneventfully.

Until it didn't. The game changed when Robert Sanchez found Rice with a pass from the back, which he failed to convert from 30 yards out, altering the atmosphere of the match.

Unexpectedly, a youthful Chelsea side found themselves up against a revitalized, title-contending Arsenal team at a suddenly tense Stamford Bridge.

Saka managed to break free from Cucurella just once during the match, but that was enough to creat a golden opportunity. His cross allowed Leandro Trossard to equalize, rescuing a 2-2 draw for Arsenal.

While this was a harsh lesson for Chelsea, they'll take it in their stride - after all, they didn't waste such a commanding position against a lesser team. They proved superior to a genuine title contender for a substantial part of the match, and their performance was far from accidental.

However, this Arsenal side is different from recent iterations. They've already netted four late goals against three of the Premier League's 'big six' this season, displaying a talent for dramatic comebacks.

For now, Arsenal continue to rule London, and they'll probably compete with Tottenham Hotspur for that honor this season. For Chelsea, they have evidence that Pochettino's approach is yielding results and is worth pursuing further.
