"Leao & Loftus-Cheek Shine as AC Milan Secures Sensational European Victory over PSG: Player Ratings"
AC Milan scored their first victory in the Champions League with a 2-1 win against Paris Saint-Germain, turning Group F's dynamics on its head.
Former Inter player, Milan Skriniar, put PSG in the lead in early stages, but was swiftly overcome by Rafael Leao. Olivier Giroud then catapulted Milan to an exhilarating win with a powerful header in the second half.
Following the victory of Borussia Dortmund over Newcastle United earlier on Tuesday, the four teams are now within three points of each other with two matchdays left.
Milan began the game energetically with Ruben Loftus-Cheek missing the bar, but it was PSG that scored first as Skriniar, formerly of Inter, seized an unguarded opportunity at the back post during a corner kick.
Yunus Musah of Milan missed a direct chance to respond as he hit straight at Gianluigi Donnarumma, but their lag didn't last. In the 12th minute, Donnarumma's save from Giroud's strike provided Leao with the opportunity to score for Milan eventually.
Kylian Mbappe had a one-on-one with Mike Maignan which should have ended in a goal, but he mishit the ball causing the crowd to go silent.
Ousmane Dembele was next to miss the goal for Barcelona, while Giroud missed for Milan at the other end, both intensifying the pace during the first 45 minutes.
Despite their best efforts, no further goals were scored before the interval. PSN managed 12 shots and Milan, ten, but the score remained the same.
The second half mirrored the fast-paced first with Tijani Reijnders missing the target in the early minutes. By the 50th minute, Giroud rammed a header home off a pass by Theo Hernandez, pushing Milan ahead.
Having taken the lead, Milan shifted their emphasis, solidifying their defence and challenging PSG to penetrate it in the final 30 minutes.
As the clock ticked towards the 85th minute, Noah Okafor made a rare offensive move, launching an exceptional shot at Donnarumma who successfully deflected it. The ensuing corner kick led to more chaos in the penalty box from which Okafor shot over.
In the final moments, Maignan deflected Lee Kang-in's low drive onto his post, ensuring Milan's major victory.
