Manchester City secured yet another trophy this year, comfortably defeating Fluminense 3-0 in the Club World Cup final.

Immediately from kickoff, it was an easy affair, with Julian Alvarez scoring only 40 seconds into the match by capitalizing on the rebound from a powerful long-range shot by Nathan Ake.

Despite holding the upper hand, City were concerned they had given Fluminense a chance to return to the game when Ederson conceded a penalty for tripping German Cano halfway through the first half.

After awarding the penalty, it was rapidlydisallowed due to offside, with a swift VAR check confirming that Ruben Dias had perfectly executed the offside trap.

How’s the nerve guys 😭 Yoo Ederson calm down

Personally, I would have let Ortega play. Ederson has been making me worried recently.

Phil Foden promptly returned the spotlight to City as he pressured an own goal from centre-back Nino, thereby expanding his team's lead.

That's Foden's goal, regardless.💙

While a relaxed triumph seemed imminent, City supporters were alarmed at the sight of Rodri writhing in pain on the ground following a rough tackle.

No, no, no, no, Rodri is injured. My entire evening is ruined

Cringed upon seeing the playback. Doesn’t look good for Rodri.

Rodri ultimately had to exit due to his injury, but not before Foden secured a goal for himself.

Alvarez made a break down the left flank, lofting a low cross to Foden, who effortlessly directed the ball into the net from close range.

In the final phases of the game, Alvarez claimed his second goal, firmly steering the ball into the bottom corner, equalling the record for the largest margin of victory in a Club World Cup final.

Even though City were hunting for that elusive fifth goal, it just wasn't meant to be.

However, that was insignificant in the grand scheme of things, with fans expressing their joy over the latest trophy addition on social media.

Grateful to the world's finest team🤗✨
