In a hard-fought 1-1 draw with Liverpool on Saturday, Arsenal secured their position as Premier League leaders just in time for Christmas.

Arsenal seized a strong start, pulling ahead after just three minutes. Gabriel Magalhaes ascended above the rest during a Martin Odegaard free-kick and, after surviving a VAR check, set the Gunners in a dominant position.

So haphazard defending from Liverpool lol

Konate's defence for the goal

Liverpool believed they deserved a path back into the match when Martin Odegaard clearly handled the ball in the penalty area. It occurred when the Arsenal man slipped while trying to thwart Salah, and his swinging arm nearly drew the ball back into his possession.

The on-field referee did not make a call, and the VAR did not step in, leaving many fans puzzled.

I am unsure of the handball rule. I don’t think I will ever understand it.

That's the perfect example of a handball. Obvious penalty. Isn't it worth asking the referee for a second look?!

Is the revised rule that if you are tumbling, it can't be a handball?!

However, Liverpool fans' complaints were short-lived as Mohamed Salah equalised the match with a superb goal.

Salah picked up a spectacular long ball from Trent Alexander-Arnold, gave a masterclass against Oleksandr Zinchenko before he powerfully shot the ball into David Raya's net.

As the game moved on, injuries became a significant issue for Liverpool.

Firstly, left-back Kostas Tsimikas got knocked to the ground by Bukayo Saka and ended up crashing into Jurgen Klopp, who had to substitute him after falling on him.

Tsimikas with an immense tackle on Klopp, enjoy that!!!

Klopp and Saka combined to accidentally injure their Tsimikas.

Joined by Luis Diaz in the treatment room, Tsimikas had his own crash with Saka halfway through the second half.

How does Saka cause two injuries and still continues in the game?

I can sense Saka's victory

However, the game didn't end with Saka's victory, no more goals were scored by either team.

With this result, Arsenal maintains its position at the top while their fans worldwide will celebrate Christmas as the Premier League leaders. Meanwhile, Liverpool stands at third.

Only a draw, I'll accept that, don't lose points. We're just 1 point behind, that's good. GO REDS.

A tie was the rightful outcome. I believe if Timber or Zinchenko were fit, we could have won. But we move on. COYG.

At the top. Merry Christmas, Gooners.
