Travis Kelce Responds to Accusations of Being Set Up with Taylor Swift by Erin Andrews and Charissa Thompson

Travis Kelce has responded to sports analysts Erin Andrews and Charissa Thompson's assertion that they played a role in his relationship with Taylor Swift. This is after an unsuccessful attempt by Kelce to pass his contact details to the music star in July 2023.

Appearing on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on May 23, the 46-year-old Erin and 42-year-old Charissa made light of the origins of Traylor's romance. “Travis mentioned on his podcast that he went to an [Eras tour] show, with a desire to connect with her afterwards, but that didn’t happen,” explained Erin. “As a result, we began speaking about it on our show [“Calm Down​”], serving as matchmakers by saying, ‘Taylor, you should give him a chance. Travis is quite the catch.’ So, we nudged, ‘Taylor, make the move!”

“From an early point, we were rooting for them,” Charissa added. “He was extremely sweet when he replied by saying, ‘I owe both of you!’ Now, everyone is attributing their relationship to us, which we are more than glad to accept. I adore both of them and am thrilled to see them in love."

Host Jimmy, aged 49 and a notable fan of the couple, expressed gratitude to the women for making one of the most adored Hollywood couplings a reality. “On this Memorial Day when we pay tribute to our servicemen and women, we should also extend the same to both of you. You have gifted us with Taylor and Travis. This is truly amazing,” he quipped humorously.

Kelce, 34, responded to the matchmakers' claims in the comment section of The Tonight Show's official Instagram that had shared segments of the interview.

“For America! Charissa and Erin are brilliant!,” wrote the Kansas City Chiefs tight end.

One month post publicly announcing their relationship in September 2023, Travis, 34, and the music star received Erin re-sharing an August 2023 “Calm Down” podcast clip on Instagram. In it, she and Charissa had identified Travis as an exceptional candidate as Taylor’s next partner.

In response, the star of Catching Kelce wrote, “Both of you are amazing!! I'm indebted to you!!"

Nonetheless, Erin decided to take a more serious tone, stating that she doesn’t "accept any credit” for the twosome's flourishing relationship.

“The media fascination with her dip into our sports world, and the controversy regarding it potentially harming the league, is downright mind-boggling. Her presence is absolutely beneficial for our sport,” Erin told The New York Post in May. She wrapped up by saying, “Taylor is completely intriguing and empowering. Now, she has widely attracted female viewership like never before."
