Potential Shirt Numbers for Jude Bellingham at Real Madrid
Jude Bellingham's transfer saga has come to an end as he joins Real Madrid in a six-year deal worth an initial fee of €100m. He will become the first Englishman to wear the white of Real Madrid since David Beckham. However, the question remains: which shirt number will Bellingham be wearing?
Throughout his career, Bellingham has been loyal to the number 22, which he wore at Birmingham City, and has also worn various numbers, including 7, 8, 10, 18, 19, 21, 23, and 26, during his time with England's youth teams.
Unfortunately for Bellingham, none of his previous shirt numbers are available at Real Madrid. Vinicius Junior holds the number 7, Toni Kroos has the number 8, Aurelien Tchouameni has the number 18, a returning Brahim Diaz has the number 21, Antonio Rudiger has the number 22, and Ferland Mendy has the number 23. Senior players at La Liga are not allowed to wear the number 26, leaving Bellingham with few options.
If Brahim Diaz leaves, Bellingham might be able to score the coveted number 21 jersey. Alternatively, Bellingham could choose to wear the available numbers 14 or 25.
