Gianni Infantino, the president of FIFA, has announced that the 2034 World Cup will take place in Saudi Arabia, the only nation to finalize its bid for the tournament.

Despite initially expressing interest, Australia ultimately decided not to submit a bid to host the World Cup. As a result, Saudi Arabia became the sole candidate, which FIFA revealed in a subsequent announcement.

Infantino utilized social media platforms to confirm Saudi Arabia as the host for the 2034 event.

Referring to FIFA Council's unanimous approval of the bidding processes, Infantino wrote, 'Appreciation is due to all those involved in this beneficial interaction. Constructive dialogue and thorough consultation resulted in this consensus, which involved representatives from all six confederations.'

He further expounded on the unifying nature of football, pointing out its unique capacity to bridge cultural gaps and enhance mutual understanding. He emphasized that the FIFA World Cup serves as a global beacon of unity and inclusion, a message that is ever poignant in our increasingly divisive world.

Infantino also stressed the role of football as a powerful unifying force, stating that FIFA World Cups are crucial rallying points of unity in our world today.

The 2026 tournament will be hosted across North America, with hosting duties split among Canada, Mexico, and the United States.

The 2030 World Cup will provide fans with an extraordinary experience as the hosting reins are handed over to Morocco, Portugal, and Spain. However, three commemorative matches will be held in South America, with each of Argentina, Paraguay and Uruguay hosting a game.

'Three tournaments, five continents, and ten countries involved in hosting matches from the tournament- this exemplifies the global reach of football!' Infantino expressed enthusiastically.
