Reneé Rapp, star of Sex Lives of College Girls, is keeping busy with both her acting and music careers. Currently filming the movie adaptation of Mean Girls on Broadway while also working on her debut album, Rapp admits that it’s been “hectic,” but is striving to find a work-life balance. At 23, Rapp played Regina George in the Broadway musical and is now reprising the role. She lost her script but has an inherent sense of how to play the part. Rapp claims that the movie adaptation will have some updates to keep it contemporary. The actress and singer also shared insights into her music inspirations and a recent performance at Cap’n Crunch’s 60th birthday party in Palm Springs.

When Rapp isn’t on set, she is working on her music. Her favorite song from her February EP is “In the Kitchen,” about a breakup. Many of her songs are emotional and tug at the heartstrings, but Rapp admits she hasn’t heard from any former flames who may have inspired her work. Rapp describes the Cap’n Crunch performance as “campy” and is thrilled to be sharing the stage with DJ Pee Wee (aka Anderson .Paak) and Cap’n Crunch himself.

Rapp’s debut album may take a backseat to her acting career at present, but the young star is determined to achieve her goal of becoming an EGOT. Given her hard work and focus, it’s a safe bet that Rapp will achieve that distinction at some point in the future.
