Podcaster Bobbi Althoff Discusses Body Image Challenges Before Lingerie Campaign
Podcaster Bobbi Althoff is getting vulnerable about becoming comfortable with her body.
In a December 30 exclusive with PEOPLE, Althoff explained that doing a modeling campaign in lingerie was never something she planned on in her career.
Althoff is best known for her dry, awkward humor during interviews with celebrity guests on her podcast, “The Really Good Podcast,” and its follow-up podcast “Not This Again.”
However, she is now featured in the campaign images for Adore Me’s 2026 Valentine’s Day Collection.
“I definitely never saw myself doing a lingerie shoot,” she told PEOPLE of the collaboration. “I was, like, very nervous about it.”
However, knowing that Adore Me was a very well-established and inclusive brand put Althoff at ease.
“I’ve just seen the work that they’ve done before, and I am familiar with the brand and it felt right,” she explained.
The campaign images show Althoff donning romantic pieces with kiss mark patterns, red satin, black lace, and more.
“It was very cute, very unlike me,” she said of the collection. “Not necessarily something that I’d normally see myself in, but I was very pleasantly surprised by how nice the pieces were.”
Althoff believes that the fact that she is known for her comedic podcasting rather than her good looks and is still rocking the new collection should be encouraging to other women.
“If I can wear lingerie and look somewhat OK in it, other people can also see themselves in it,” she explained. “Because I feel like I’m not really the poster child for lingerie.”
Althoff insists that if, like her, you don’t feel like “being sexy” is your thing, it can’t hurt to give it a try.
“I think that even if you think you’d feel bad in [the lingerie], put it on and it will… it might surprise you,” she shared.
Althoff admits she is far from immune to insecurities, though.
In fact, not long before the Adore Me shoot, she got Botox injections in her jaw, which ended up migrating towards her mouth.
“I guess it moved into my smile, so I couldn’t smile at all,” she explained. “I felt so crazy, like I couldn’t smile. But I feel [the photos] still turned out really, really good.”
Althoff has made it a point to be transparent about any cosmetic enhancements she may get done, mindful of how her audience may see her.
“Before I was on social media and stuff, I would just look at people who looked perfect, and I assumed that they just were born that way,” she said. “I think a lot of people just get stuff done, especially in L.A.”
While Althoff may still get enhancements like Botox from time to time, she’s also working on being more accepting of her appearance the way it naturally is.
Her goal going into the New Year?
“Not looking in the mirror as much and critiquing my appearance,” she shared. “I wanna touch some grass and realize that I don’t need to sit there and critique every little part of myself.”
