Professional Game Match Officials Limited (PGMOL) is set to make public the dialogue of the officials during Anthony Gordon's contentious goal for Newcastle against Arsenal in a previous Premier League encounter in November.

Arsenal's manager, Mikel Arteta, vented his frustration following the 1-0 loss to the Magpies at St James' Park. He deemed the approval of Gordon's goal as 'embarrassing' and a 'disgrace'.

A three-pronged evaluation was carried out by the video assistant referee for the goal. They examined whether the ball had gone out of bounds, if Gabriel Magalhaes had been infringed upon by Joelinton, and the possible occurrence of an offside.

In response to the game, Arsenal reaffirmed their backing of Arteta, stating that 'PGMOL urgently needs to address the standard of officiating'. However, the Premier League's Key Match Incidents Panel concluded that referee Stuart Attwell and VAR Andy Madley's decision was correct.

The Daily Mail recently disclosed that PGMOL has advised Arsenal that the conversation from their only league loss thus far this season will be aired on Tuesday on the monthly TV show 'Match Officials: Mic'd Up', hosted by COO Howard Webb and ex-England striker Michael Owen.

In the fallout, The Football Association sought clarification on the remarks made by both Arteta and Arsenal.

'Match Officials: Mic'd Up' has been used as a platform to shed light on controversial decisions throughout the 2023/24 season, including the release of audio detailing Darren England's notorious outburst during his ruling on Luis Diaz's goal at Tottenham in October.

This resulted in Liverpool's genuine goal being disallowed due to a miscommunication among the official team at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, leading their nine-player squad to a heartbreaking 2-1 loss in the dying minutes of the game.
