Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has reportedly made up his mind to leave the club when his current contract runs out in 2023. Having recently led City to the treble, Guardiola had signed a new deal last November, which came as a surprise to his inner circle who were unsure if it would happen.

When Guardiola first arrived in England in 2016, it was widely expected that he would only stay for the three-year term he had agreed to at the time. However, after stints with Barcelona and Bayern Munich, where he won numerous titles, Guardiola had expressed interest in coaching a club in Italy to complete his portfolio of managing in Europe's top domestic leagues.

However, recent reports suggest that Guardiola has since changed his mind, and one of his options after leaving City could be coaching an international team. Meanwhile, the City manager is hopeful that midfielder Ilkay Gündogan will sign a new one-year deal with a 12-month option, which the club has offered him. Discussions between Gündogan and the club hierarchy are expected in the coming days, as the midfielder also considers a three-year contract offer from Barcelona. Additionally, Gündogan has reportedly sparked interest from Saudi Arabia, whose club he could join as a free agent as his current contract expires at the end of this month.
