A new Oreo cookie is coming to America soon and it may be one of the brand’s most exciting launches yet.

Oreo is releasing sugar-free versions of its original cookie and its beloved “Double Stuf” cookie nationwide starting in January 2026.

According to the iconic cookie brand, “With Oreo Zero Sugar, you can indulge in the signature Oreo taste now without the sugar! Oreo Zero Sugar offers the classic taste of Oreo, while allowing you to keep your health & wellness goals.”

“Pre-portioned with 2 cookies per pack, Oreo Zero Sugar is your portion control and sweet tooth companion,” they continued.

The cookie’s owner, Mondelēz International, has spent four years developing Oreo Zero Sugar.

Michelle Deignan, vice president of marketing for the Oreo brand at Mondelēz, said the new cookie delivers a “100% authentic OREO experience” that replicates the original.

“Until now, the sandwich cookie category has been relatively absent from the sugar-free snack segment,” Deignan wrote in an email to Food Dive. “This gap presented an incredible opportunity for the OREO brand to step in and redefine what indulgence can look like.”

While the cookies haven’t been released in stores yet, fans can purchase them early online and reviews on the site are already rolling in with mixed reactions.

One commenter praised the effort but noted some reservations. “It’s a step in the right direction. Sucralose still causes glucose spikes, though. Diabetics will be better served with a cookie sweetened with monk fruit, which is all natural, zero calorie, and causes no glucose spike.”

Another fan expressed pure excitement about the new release writing, “YES! More companies need to step up and cut the sugar out. My family and I can’t wait to get our hands on these sugar-free Oreos.”

A third reviewer shared how meaningful the cookies will be for them personally. “About time!!! As a diabetic who misses a good dirt n worms, this is gonna make me happy.”

Will you be trying these sugar-free Oreo’s out?
