The conclusion of the 2023/24 season is rapidly approaching, and many football enthusiasts have started speculating about which players their favourite teams can recruit for enhancement in the offseason.

The list of potential new additions to the UK's top-ranked clubs already shows signs of growth, as we steadily approach the summer transfer window of 2024.

An intriguing question is, if the top-performing Premier League's six teams were allowed to only select one player each in the summer, who are they likely to sign? This list includes Manchester United, Manchester City, Arsenal, Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur, and Chelsea.

Let's find out.

Having invested a staggering £150m in giving its midfield a complete overhaul over the past year, Liverpool is already seeing the positive effects on the field. However, opportunities for further improvements in the field's center still exist.

Khephren Thuram might just be the ideal addition. As an international player for France, Thuram's exceptional versatility allows him to pivot smoothly between a defensive and an offensive midfielder, catering exactly to the team's needs.

Undoubtedly, Manchester City is a team that hardly needs any new signings. If the team's manager, Pep Guardiola, had to choose one player, Joshua Kimmich would likely be his prefered choice. This versatile German player excels in a wide array of roles - from a full-back and midfielder to even a centre-back when necessary.

Arsenal, under the management of Mikel Arteta, values the presence of inverted full-backs in their tactical approach. This makes Alex Grimaldo, currently one of the best inverted full-backs globally, an attractive prospect. With an impressive score of 20 goal contributions in the 2023/24 season, while playing for Bayer Leverkusen, Grimaldo could aid Arsenal to reach new heights of success.

Rumours hint at Tottenham's interest in Conor Gallagher ever since Ange Postecoglou joined the London team. Gallagher's strengths as a strong midfielder for both defense and offence make him the perfect fit for Postecoglou's tactical planning. According to 90min, there's a possibility that Gallagher's price tag could be negotiated down to £50m, making him a worthwhile investment for the proven Premier League-experienced player.

Current issues with the Manchester United squad are quite complex. However, a potential solution could be focusing heavily on enhancing their midfield capabilities. Both Casemiro and Sofyan Amrabat currently display less than stellar performances; therefore, the hunt is on for a capable midfield partner for their newly acquired superstar Kobbie Mainoo. Such a player should not only complement Mainoo's skills but also add physicality to the field while easing pressure off the youngster. Douglas Luiz fits these criteria perfectly.

Chelsea's problems seem to be almost of historical nature as they've been struggling to find a suitable talented striker for several years. In response to several failed forward recruitments and Nicolas Jackson's unsatisfactory performance this season, club fans are urging Chelsea to seek a superior class striker. Victor Osimhen seems to meet this demand as he's currently available for recruitment.
