Newcastle United remains unfazed by the interest in midfielder Bruno Guimaraes, according to 90min sources. The team plans to secure a new contract for the Brazilian despite attracting attention from clubs across Europe, including Barcelona and Real Madrid. Guimaraes has been an instrumental figure in Newcastle's rise to fourth place in the Premier League under manager Eddie Howe since his arrival in January 2022. Sources reveal that the player is content at St. James' Park and is currently negotiating a massive new deal. Newcastle officials are confident of finalizing the extension before the upcoming season.

Although Barcelona favors Guimaraes, he is not their top priority for the summer. Instead, the Spanish giants are keen on signing Manchester City's Ilkay Gundogan and Real Sociedad's Martin Zubimendi as a replacement for the outgoing Sergio Busquets. In addition, the team is also eyeing Bernardo Silva from City and saving up for Lionel Messi's return from Paris Saint-Germain. Barcelona will decide on their transfer strategy once La Liga approves their budget for the summer, as they also need to finance the new deals of Gavi and Ronald Araujo.

On the latest episode of the 90min podcast network's Talking Transfers, Scott Saunders is joined by Toby Cudworth and Graeme Bailey to discuss the latest transfer news, including Tottenham's pursuit of Feyenoord manager Arne Slot and Bayern Munich's interest in Declan Rice, Joshua Kimmich, Neymar, and others.
