Jadon Sancho is due to meet with Manchester United management following his public fallout with manager Erik ten Hag, 90min understands.

Sancho was the subject of public criticism from Ten Hag in the wake of Sunday's 3-1 defeat to Arsenal, having been left out of the travelling squad for the game. Speaking to the press, Ten Hag pointed to Sancho's performances in training not being at the required level for selection over the last week.

On Sunday evening, shortly after Ten Hag's comments, Sancho responded on social media claiming 'there are other issues on this matter that I won't go into' and that he has been 'a scapegoat for a long time' at United. Sancho joined the club in summer 2021 and is entering his third season with the club - his second under the Dutchman's management.

Sancho's post is understood to have made Ten Hag unhappy but talks are due to discuss how the player is reprimanded for making his grievances public.

90min has learned United have already fielded enquiries about the England international, specifically from clubs in Turkey. The transfer window has closed for a number of countries across Europe, though Turkish clubs are still able to sign players until September 15.

Sancho's exit in the immediate term is highly unlikely, given the options currently available and due to the fact the 23-year-old is among the club's highest earners on over £250,000 a week. United believe the situation is fixable and will not facilitate any exit in which they would have to financially contribute to the player playing elsewhere.

United would have considered offers for Sancho during the most recent transfer window and former club Borussia Dortmund remain long-term admirers. Sancho's failure to secure a regular first-team place and United's difficult cash position meant offers in the summer would have been considered and that remains the case as things stand moving forward.

Ten Hag is unhappy with how the situation has escalated and is due to speak to Sancho in the hope their issues can be resolved for the short term at least.

Sancho's frustration with his position at United has grown over the past few months, with Brazilian winger Antony regularly selected on the right side of attack despite his difficulties with form. Ten Hag, meanwhile, has been unimpressed with Sancho's training performances recently and his decision was a result of that.

United sit 11th in the Premier League after four matches, with Brighton the next team to visit Old Trafford after the international break.

On this edition of The Promised Land, part of the 90min podcast network, Scott Saunders and Rob Blanchette discuss discuss Man Utd's summer transfer business, including the signings of Sergio Reguilon and Sofyan Amrabat on deadline day.
