Observing the Ryan Gravenberch situation at Bayern: Manchester United, Liverpool and Arsenal.
Manchester United, Liverpool, and Arsenal have each requested to be kept updated on Ryan Gravenberch's future with the possibility of a summer transfer, as reported by 90min.
The Dutch midfielder signed for Bayern Munich from Ajax last summer. However, he has found it difficult to make an impact, only playing 323 minutes in their Bundesliga campaign this season. He remained on the bench throughout Bayern's 3-0 loss to Manchester City in the Champions League on Tuesday.
It's been reported that Gravenberch never impressed former manager Julian Nagelsmann, and it's unclear how he will fit into the plans of new Bayern boss Thomas Tuchel. Bayern's first-choice players in central midfield are Leon Goretzka and Joshua Kimmich, and with the addition of Konrad Laimer, competition for Gravenberch is even more challenging. Gravenberch is looking for a way to secure regular first-team football and is assessing his chances of having a long-term role at Bayern in the final weeks of the season.
All three Premier League clubs are interested in improving their options in midfield, with each considering different player profiles.
Manchester United is looking for a ball-playing number eight and has been interested in Frenkie de Jong of Barcelona since the arrival of Erik ten Hag. Exploratory interest in Mateo Kovacic, who is out of contract with Chelsea in 2024, and Orkan Kokcu of Feyenoord, has also been reported. Ten Hag previously worked with Gravenberch at Ajax and introduced him to the first team.
Liverpool is interested in signing up to three midfielders over the summer, and it has been reported that they have withdrawn from the race to sign their primary target Jude Bellingham due to prohibitive costs. They are considering other targets, such as Chelsea's Mason Mount, Matheus Nunes, Ruben Neves, Moises Caicedo, and Alexis Mac Allister. Gravenberch is also being considered as a previous Liverpool target and a relatively cheap acquisition if Bayern decides to sell him.
Arsenal attempted to sign Moises Caicedo in January, but Brighton's high valuation of the Ecuadorian midfielder deterred them. Youri Tielemans of Leicester City, who is out of contract at the end of the season, has also been considered by Arsenal.
All three clubs have been following West Ham's Declan Rice, and Manchester City and Chelsea are also interested in the midfielder.
90min's podcast network, Talking Transfers, recently discussed Liverpool's potential deal for Jude Bellingham, stating that Borussia Dortmund does not need to sell him and is asking for €150m, which is unlikely to happen.
