Manchester United have confirmed that Marcus Rashford will be unavailable for the first leg of their Europa League quarter-final clash with Sevilla. The 25-year-old sustained a suspected groin injury and limped off during Saturday's 2-0 win over Everton in the Premier League. Fans have been eagerly anticipating news of Rashford's availability, with United facing a demanding schedule of fixtures.

United have yet to specify when Rashford will return, but the club has revealed that he will miss "a few games" and is expected to be back for the final run-in of the season. Rashford has been a standout player for United, having scored 28 goals in all competitions this season, putting him fourth in the Premier League goalscoring chart behind only Erling Haaland, Harry Kane, and Ivan Toney.

Twenty of Rashford's goals have come since the World Cup finals in December, with the striker playing a leading role in United's push for a potential treble. The Red Devils have already won the Carabao Cup this season, and are also quarter-finalists in the Europa League and semi-finalists in the FA Cup.

Rashford's absence will be felt not only in the first leg against Sevilla, a team that United have never beaten in their previous three meetings, but also in the return leg at the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan Stadium. He is also set to miss the upcoming match against Nottingham Forest, and it is yet to be determined if he will be available for the FA Cup semi-final against Brighton, as well as the matches against Tottenham and Aston Villa.

United face at least five matches in May, depending on their progress in the Europa League. They will face trips to Brighton, West Ham, and Bournemouth, with home games against Wolves and Fulham. In this edition of the Promised Land podcast, Scott Saunders and Rob Blanchette discuss Rashford's injury and whether Anthony Martial or Jadon Sancho can step up in his absence.
