Liverpool has secured the signing of World Cup champion Alexis Mac Allister on a long-term contract. The 24-year-old was a prime target for the Reds, as they hoped to revitalize their aging midfield by bringing in fresh talent, and they have acted quickly to acquire his services.

Mac Allister successfully completed a medical on Tuesday, with Liverpool keen to finalize a deal for the talented Argentinian before he left for international duty later in the week. His move to Anfield has now been confirmed.

After completing his transfer, Mac Allister stated, "It feels amazing. It’s a dream come true, it’s amazing to be here and I can’t wait to get started. I wanted to be in from the first day of pre-season, so it’s good that everything is done. I’m looking forward to meeting my teammates. It was a fantastic year for me – World Cup, what we achieved with Brighton – but now it’s time to think about Liverpool and try to be a better player and a better human being every day."

In addition to Mac Allister, Jurgen Klopp is seeking to add more midfielders to his squad this summer. According to 90min, the club has held discussions with representatives from both Borussia Monchengladbach's Manu Kone and Nice's Khephren Thuram about potential moves to Anfield. While Mason Mount has been linked to a transfer, sources have confirmed that Manchester United is presently the frontrunner for his signature due to agreeing to personal terms last week.
