Alexis Mac Allister transfer close to completion, Liverpool assured
Liverpool are reportedly close to securing the signing of Brighton midfielder Alexis Mac Allister, according to 90min sources.
The 24-year-old Argentinean played a crucial role in his national team's World Cup victory and has attracted interest from several Premier League clubs, including Manchester United and Chelsea.
Brighton boss Roberto De Zerbi recently admitted that Mac Allister is likely to leave the club this summer, and Liverpool have emerged as the frontrunner for his signature.
Personal terms have apparently been agreed in principle, and Liverpool are said to be willing to pay Brighton's asking price of around £70m.
The club is reportedly growing increasingly confident that a deal will be finalised soon, allowing them to focus on other transfer targets ahead of the new season.
Liverpool recently appointed Jorg Schmadtke as their new sporting director to help bolster the team's transfer dealings.
The club had previously targeted Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jude Bellingham, but financial concerns forced them to look elsewhere.
They were also rumoured to be interested in Chelsea's Mason Mount, but both Arsenal and Manchester United are said to be preparing rival bids.
