Liverpool secured a comfortable 6-1 victory over Leeds at Elland Road on Monday night, thanks to a brace each from Mohamed Salah and Diogo Jota.

The Reds, who have struggled for consistency this season, put in a clinical performance to end their five-game winless streak. Cody Gakpo opened the scoring for Liverpool before Salah added a second with a powerful strike. Luis Sinisterra pulled one back for Leeds but Jota scored his first before Salah finished off a flowing move. Jota then grabbed his second with a well-placed shot that went in off the post, before Darwin Nunez registered Liverpool's sixth from the bench.

Leeds had a few chances early on, with Rodrigo and Sinisterra coming close, but Liverpool took the lead in controversial fashion with Gakpo's goal. Salah added a second soon after, and despite Sinisterra's goal, Liverpool's two-goal lead was soon restored when Jota scored his second. The Reds continued to dominate and added two more goals through Salah and Jota.

Illan Meslier had a disappointing night in goal for Leeds, conceding six goals and making just one save. Rasmus Kristensen, Pascal Struijk and Junior Firpo all struggled in defence, while Weston McKennie and Marc Roca failed to impress in midfield. Jack Harrison and Luis Sinisterra were bright spots in attack for Leeds, but overall it was a disappointing night for the home side.

Despite the emphatic victory, Liverpool remain in eighth place in the Premier League table, two points behind Brighton. Leeds, on the other hand, are down in 16th place and have seen their goal difference take a significant hit.
