Kylie Jenner and Jennifer Lawrence Speak Out about Plastic Surgery Speculations
Kylie Jenner and Jennifer Lawrence have unexpectedly forged quite the camaraderie. Lawrence hasn't shied away from expressing her admiration for the Kardashian-Jenner clan. In a recent tete-a-tete, hosted by Interview, Jenner and Lawrence engage in a frank dialogue regarding their early ascension to fame and persistent speculations about plastic surgery. The candid exchange offers a fresh perspective on a subject that journalists typically question them about.
Lawrence queries how Jenner acquired the skill to contour her lips. "The reason is simple — I wanted big, fat, juicy lips, with the illusion they were fuller," Jenner responds. She mentions that no one tutored her because she wasn't collaborating with makeup artists then.
"Makeup is truly remarkable," observes Lawrence. "I work with Hung [Vanngo] who does a marvelous job of overlining my lips. I joke that he's a plastic surgeon because ever since he started doing my makeup, everyone is under the impression I've had eye surgery," says Lawrence, referencing her own experience with plastic surgery gossip that Jenner can identify with. She quips, “I did not have eye surgery. My makeup is just on point.” Jenner praises Lawrence and confirms Lawrence's eye-catching appearance lately. “Evidently, I’ve undergone full plastic surgery,” Lawrence jestingly responds. “No, the pictures I’ve seen don’t suggest that,” Jenner reassures her.
Jenner confesses to having lip fillers but bemoans the assumptions people make about additional procedures. Comparing a 12-year-old photo of herself to a more recent one at 26, she disputes the claim that she's reshaped her jaw and had her eyelids done. “How can anyone compare a photo of me at 12 with makeup now and deduce that I’ve had such procedures?” Jenner questions.
Lawrence expresses having shared a similar ordeal, given that she’s been in the public eye from her teenage years. Starting her career at 19, she discusses the inevitable changes in her appearance over the years. “The change from when I was 19 to now at 30 is natural — it’s predictable that I’d lose my baby fat and age,” Lawrence comments. “People thought I had a nose job, but my nose hasn’t changed. My cheeks got smaller because I grew up. Thank you for the reminder,” she sarcastically remarks.
