Kelly Clarkson showed off her striking new physique after her 40-pound weight loss in September 2023. Not only is the "A Moment Like This" singer now a slimmer version of her former self, but she also seems to be enjoying her new wardrobe's lighter side.

During her Las Vegas show, Chemistry...an Intimate Night With Kelly Clarkson, an amusing incident occurred. Clarkson, 41, was asked by a fan to take a shot on stage. She light-heartedly responded that bending down to do so would be a challenge given her attire.

"Oh gosh! It's really hard to bend with this on," responded Kelly, as she attempted to collect a small bottle of spirits from the fan. "This is so very tight, it's as if they've put me in super slim clothes, since I lost all this weight."

She managed to pick up the bottle despite the hurdles, and another audience member hailed her as a "Skinny legend!"

Kelly discussed her weight loss journey in an interview with People magazine published Wednesday, January 3. She expressed that the changes she made in her nutrition and the guidance she received from her doctors contributed to her weight loss.

"I listened to my doctor and worked on my diet; for a long time, I didn't," she said. "I stay committed 90 percent of the time because meat - I'm a Texas girl after all - suits me. To all the vegetarians out there, I apologize!"

Also, migrating her show from Los Angeles to New York City helped. "Walking in the city ensures a great cardio exercise," she added.

Kelly shared her previous struggles with mental health and her children's struggles, River Rose and Remington Alexander, in Los Angeles. This acted as a catalyst for their cross-country move.

"I was disgruntled in Los Angeles and knew it was time for a fresh beginning," she confessed. "We explained to NBC that it's not that we're ungrateful; it's just that for mental health reasons, my kids and I needed to relocate. The kids weren't doing well either. Despite doing my duty with a smile, compartmentalizing one's emotions only goes so far before one breaks."

Kelly added, "The last few years were tough, even privately during the first season. Coming into season five, feeling good and knowing the kids are fine— and the dust has settled. Season 5 was my first season where I could relish every bit of it."

Nowadays, the mother of two spends her time off exploring the city with her children.

"We walk the dogs, occasionally go for ice cream when my daughter insists, make slime, and visit museums," Kelly mentioned.
