Keke Palmer Seeks Restraining Order on Darius Jackson and Sole Custody of Their Child

Keke Palmer, the actress, has submitted a restraining order against Darius Jackson, while also seeking full custody of Leodis, their 8-month-old son, as Life & Style confirmed.

Keke, who is 30, accuses 29-year-old Darius of continuous abuse throughout their two-year relationship. These allegations are based on court documents registered on Thursday the 9th of November, obtained by Life & Style. Keke not only perceives multiple occurrences of "physical violence" as suggested in the court documents but also stated that the incidents involving Darius included actions such as "Destroying my private property, including journals and prescription glasses, throwing my belongings in the street, confiscating my car keys to prevent me from leaving, assaulting me in front of our son, using vile language about me to our son, threatening to commit suicide with a gun if I left him, causing harassment, and other cases of physical and emotional abuse".

Keke exclusively cites an alleged event involving her and Darius that was supposedly filmed on November 5, where Darius supposedly "trespassed" into her residence without her "knowledge or assent". According to court documents, Darius then "threatened" Keke before supposedly performing actions including "lunging at my neck, hitting me, pushing me over the sofa and stealing my phone".

In her submission, Keke asserts that she was involved in a "dating relationship" with Darius before it "finally concluded for good" in early October. The breakdown happened not only after a public dispute regarding an outfit Keke wore that Darius found unacceptable, but was "primarily due to the physical and emotional abuse inflicted on me by Darius throughout our relationship".

Keke avows in the court documents that "because of our son, Leo, I was finally able to disentangle my relationship from Darius completely, enabling me to escape the abuse". She declared that "Leo is the most crucial being in the entire world to me; he has to be safe and grow up in a violence-free environment".

Darius and Keke were perceived to have a stable and very private relationship, however, that all changed in July when Darius criticized her choice of outfit for an Usher concert.

In response to the criticism, Keke introduced a new merchandise line just two days later. She uploaded a note to Instagram where she included that "to all my moms out there, how has your baby changed you? Mine made me empowered! My perspective changed because when my baby is good, I’m GREAT! Look at that face! Full of gratitude."

The public altercation between Darius and Keke was not the first time they conflicted over her outfit choices, according to the court submission. Keke alleged that in February, Darius "strangled and body-slammed me onto the steps in my house after becoming violently envious and irrationally angry about a bikini photo".

According to court documents filed by the actress, Keke and Darius attempted couples therapy, however, his supposed behaviour "would get bad again". Keke expressed in the court documents, "in view of Darius’s uncontrollable, violent outbreaks in the past every time he gets jealous, I was seriously concerned he would hurt our son, even if it was just to hurt me". She outlines an alleged incident occurring shortly before their relationship terminated for good.

She explained, "on September 26, 2023, I was worried for Leo's safety after Darius became very exasperated with him when there was crying while Darius changed his diaper. Darius was rough and I intervened to ensure he would not hurt Leo. Darius was irate and there was nearly a tug-of-war with Leo. Luckily, Darius eventually let go, Leo was not hurt, but as I was holding Leo, seeking to console him and complete changing his diaper, Darius struck my head before storming out of the room".
