Jurgen Klopp has spoken out against Liverpool's critics on social media, stating that it is a good thing that they are not the ones making decisions for the club. The team has had a disappointing 2022/23 season, failing to live up to their high standards from the previous year where they won a cup-double and came close to achieving a quadruple.

The need for Liverpool to rebuild has become apparent, with several star players declining in physical ability or form. Klopp took the opportunity during a press conference after Wednesday's 2-1 win at West Ham and before Sunday's match against Tottenham to criticize those who overreact to the team's misfortunes on social media.

'It is good that we make the decisions and we don't let the people who write on social media make the decisions, because that is the only one we hear,' Klopp said.

He went on to explain that social media users often create a false sense of crisis within the team, highlighting a recent Instagram post that criticized the team's lineup. Klopp emphasized the importance of making good decisions rather than panicking and making rushed decisions based on social media pressure.

Liverpool has been pursuing a number of midfield targets, including Ryan Gravenberch, Alex Scott, Mason Mount, James Maddison, Mateo Kovacic and Florian Neuhaus. They are also considering making a move for Eintracht Frankfurt central defender Evan Ndicka, who will be a free agent at the end of the season.

On the latest episode of Talking Transfers, part of the 90min podcast network, Scott Saunders, Graeme Bailey & Toby Cudworth discussed various topics, including the potential appointment of Mauricio Pochettino at Chelsea and Lionel Messi's return to Barcelona.

Klopp also praised Trent Alexander-Arnold's performance in Liverpool's recent victory over West Ham and spoke about his expectations for the upcoming match against Tottenham on Sunday. He also expressed his desire for David Moyes to continue as the manager of West Ham.
