Mohamed Salah's Return Date After Hamstring Injury Revealed by Jurgen Klopp
Jurgen Klopp, Liverpool's manager, has provided an optimistic update on the health of Mohamed Salah, stating that his key forward is anticipating his return to the game next week.
Salah sustained a hamstring injury in mid-January while participating in the Africa Cup of Nations for Egypt and was initially expected to be sidelined until the end of February. This put his availability for the Reds' Carabao Cup final match against Chelsea into question.
However, the 31-year-old has recently accelerated his recuperation and is expected to rejoin Liverpool's training sessions soon. Ahead of Burnley's visit on Saturday, Klopp unveiled the recovery plan for Salah.
Klopp stated, in reference to Salah, 'We're hopeful that he'll be able to participate in certain components of training next week, but we'll have to see, he's progressing through all stages.'
Klopp went on to say, 'It's looking good. It'll be either next week or the week after, but if you were to ask him, he'd say next week.'
On Saturday, February 17, Liverpool will take on Brentford at the Gtech Community Stadium, which could be Salah's first game back. Since their promotion to the Premier League, the Reds have yet to win away against the Bees. They had a 3-3 draw in the 2021/22 season and a 3-1 loss last season, though they managed to secure a 3-0 victory at Anfield earlier this season.
If Salah does not rejoin the squad for the Brentford match, he will be looking forward to Luton Town's visit to Anfield on Wednesday, February 21, just four days ahead of their Carabao Cup final against Chelsea.
Salah last played for Liverpool in a 4–2 home win against Newcastle United on New Year's Day. Despite Salah's absence, Liverpool has managed to win five out of seven matches, draw one, and lose one, with their unbeaten streak coming to a halt at the hands of Arsenal, their title competitors.
