Jude Bellingham Surpasses Cristiano Ronaldo's Record as Real Madrid Defeats Cadiz
On Sunday, Jude Bellingham scored his 14th goal for Real Madrid in their 3-0 win over Cadiz, surpassing a record previously co-owned by Cristiano Ronaldo.
Bellingham's performance since his summer joining with Madrid has been specular, notching his 14th goal in his 15th game while securing their win over Cadiz this weekend.
With his record, Bellingham has surpassed all previous first 15-games goal records at Madrid, bettering Ronaldo, Alfredo di Stefano, and Pruden Sanchez's records.
The aforementioned trio each scored 13 goals in their first 15 matches for Madrid, but Bellingham now has a higher record.
Funnily enough, Bellingham had a total of 14 goals over the previous season overall, culminating with his final goal in his 42nd game for Borussia Dortmund in May 2023.
Ronaldo's first season with Madrid during the 2009/10 season resulted in 33 goals across 35 games in all competitions. This sets a challenging target for Bellingham to match in his first year at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Despite a shoulder dislocation prior to the international break, which led to his pullout from the England squad, Bellingham was back in Madrid's starting lineup against Cadiz.
Coach Carlo Ancelotti acknowledged after the match that Bellingham still has the injury but is fine with protection.
Next up for Madrid are games against Napoli in the Champions League on Wednesday and a La Liga match against Granada on Saturday.
