Jose Mourinho is contemplating what next after he was dismissed from his position as Roma's manager on Tuesday, according to a report by 90min.

Roma declared Mourinho was leaving after a sub-par performance, which resulted in their decline to the ninth spot in the Serie A table. This marks the culmination of Mourinho's tenure at Stadio Olimpico, which lasted for two-and-a-half years. Mourinho had a contract with Roma due to expire in the upcoming summer and had openly expressed his interest in remaining with the club.

According to insider information shared by 90min, there are no immediate plans lined up for Mourinho at this stage - with the termination of his Roma stint primarily being the club's decision. However, he is not expected to face a shortage of opportunities.

Recently, Mourinho was rumored to be considering a Premier League return, possibly with former club Chelsea or Newcastle United. However, 90min informs that any prompt decisions regarding moves to these clubs would be highly unexpected, since nothing is confirmed at current.

The owners of Chelsea are aiming to show patience towards their current head coach Mauricio Pochettino, despite a lukewarm start to the season. They hope to evaluate him in the summer, if possible, even as criticism from fans mounts and there's a potential knockout by Championship team Middlesbrough in the upcoming Carabao Cup semi-finals.

Similar to Chelsea, Newcastle also appears to want to extend their support for their struggling manager Eddie Howe, who has had to deal with an extensive list of injuries this season.

In recent times, Mourinho disclosed that he would consider opportunities to manage in Saudi Arabia. It is believed by 90min that he would likely get a contract offer from the Saudi Pro League by summer if he remains unemployed.

Previously, Mourinho was nearly offered a £30m-per-year deal to manage Al Hilal, but they are currently leading the tables and competing for another Asian Champions League title, which makes them unlikely to seek a new manager shortly.

On the other hand, Al Ahli and Cristiano Ronaldo's Al Nassr might be potential destinations for Mourinho as they have previously thought of him for managerial roles.

Mourinho may also explore international management options, since some vacancies are expected to open post Euro 2024 and the Copa America, ahead of World Cup 2026. The report indicates Mourinho would be open to assuming the England job if Gareth Southgate departs post the Euros, despite Southgate expressing his intention to stay on.
