Joan Vassos Hints at Unusual Conclusion and Surprise in 'Golden Bachelorette' Season Finale
Joan Vassos teased that fans can expect a “weird ending” on the season finale of The Golden Bachelorette.
“The family meeting and all that was a little different than other seasons, to be honest,” Joan, 61, told TheWrap during the Men Tell All episode taping, which aired on Wednesday, November 6. “That was a weird twist in this season, so the family meeting thing … had a different dynamic than it has in the past … It’s a weird ending.”
Joan did not reveal what the twist is, though she did note that her children were “very protective” of her while meeting her final suitors, Charles “Chock” Chapple and Guy Gansert.
In addition to teasing the twist, Joan told the outlet that the finale episode will be a tear-jerker. “In most Bachelor seasons the finale is emotional and mine, certainly, did not stray from that — lots of emotions, lots of tears,” she said. “But in the end, they were happy tears.”
The upcoming episode – which will air on November 13 – will feature Chock, 60, and Guy, 66, meeting Joan’s family before she ultimately decides who she gives her final rose to.
While the winner of Joan’s season has not yet been revealed, many Bachelor Nation fans have already started to weigh in on who they want to be the next Golden Bachelor lead. Fans made it clear that Charles Ling was a frontrunner during the Men Tell All, and Joan weighed in on which of her exes could get the role.
“I would hate to have that job, to have to pick the person, because I think they’re all really, really good,” she told the outlet about the casting decision. “Maybe because I love them and they are my good friends now, but I really, honestly think that they would all do a really good job.”
Joan may not be confident about who should be the next Golden Bachelor, though Charles, 66, previously reacted to potentially getting the gig while appearing on the October 10 episode of the “Bachelor Happy Hour” podcast.
“I haven’t thought about it yet, but if that opportunity arises, why not?” he admitted.
Charles also said he was surprised that he quickly became a fan favorite on the season. After he was asked what message he would like to tell his fans, Charles replied, “Please tell the fans Charles miss them and Charles thank them for their love and support.”
While Charles was shocked to become a fan favorite, he admitted he was not surprised when Joan sent him home during the October 9 episode. “I have the data. Why? Because I look around and I sensed,” he explained about their split. “I kind of sensed I’m not one of the few final ones.”
Despite not finding lasting love with Joan, Charles said he’s grateful for the valuable friendships he formed with the other suitors. “The cast members, we support each other but we don’t compete [against] each other in a sense,” he said. “In the end, Joan can only pick one gentleman, as you know that. We will be very happy whoever she is going to pick.”
