Jamie Carragher Erupts in Celebration at Sky Sports Studio After Rio Ngumoha's Goal

Liverpool and Newcastle United played out a Premier League thriller on Monday night, with the Reds edging a 3-2 victory courtesy of a 100th-minute winner from teenage debutant Rio Ngumoha.
The 16-year-old’s dramatic strike capped off a chaotic evening at St James’ Park, where Newcastle had clawed back from two goals down before Ngumoha stole the headlines with a fairytale finish.
And while the away end erupted, one man who enjoyed it just as much was former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher.
Covering the game as a pundit for Sky Sports’ Monday Night Football, Carragher’s reaction went viral after the broadcaster shared footage of him losing himself in the moment. Running circles around the studio and even leaping into the air, the Reds legend could barely contain his excitement.

“Oh my god! Oh my god! Wow! You lucky, lucky Redmen,” he exclaimed. “What is going on?! Is this one of the greatest games in Premier League history?”
Carragher later reposted the clip to X himself, simply adding: “What a game.”
Still, the Sky Sports pundit didn’t let the adrenaline cloud his judgement. Reflecting after the dust settled, Carragher admitted that Liverpool were fortunate to come away with three points.
“I think what we have seen tonight is probably one of the worst performances from a winning team, and one of the best from the losing team,” he said. “Liverpool won’t care right now, they’ll be absolutely ecstatic, but Eddie Howe’s men tonight were absolutely outstanding.”
For Ngumoha, though, it was a night that will live long in the memory – and if his debut is anything to go by, Liverpool fans might just have witnessed the arrival of their next star.
