ITV I'm A Celeb contestant discusses menstruation experience in the jungle - OK! Magazine
The current season of I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! is revealing behind-the-scenes details, as shared by past participants, including ones that never made it to the TV screen.
Frankie Bridge, a participant of the ITV reality show in 2019, has been open with followers about backstage happenings on the series.
Bridge shared some fascinating information on Instagram, such as how the ladies manage their menstrual cycles while in the jungle. The 32-year-old star from The Saturday's, who also was part of the UK edition in 2021 due to Covid-19 restrictions, was asked: 'Was there some special allowance given to anyone who was menstruating during their stay?'
The Loose Women actor responded: 'There have been numerous inquiries about periods. I was apprehensive about having one in the camp, which I believe most of us were!'
Bridge continued: 'No specific accommodations were made. However, eco-friendly sanitary products were made available and a medical professional was always onsite. Thus, anyone in pain would obviously be provided relief.'
In a previous series in 2014, Kendra Wilkinson struggled with her third Bucktucker Trial, attributing it to her having her menstrual cycle. The 38-year-old former model was chosen to confront the Catecombs of Doom, where she could only find two stars in the allocated ten minutes of the challenge.
She met the first part of the challenge, putting her hand into a hole to retrieve a star, only after a significant portion of her time was exhausted due to her fear of a baby crocodile. Further, despite trying to get stars from within skulls in the next room, she couldn't contain her fear, which resulted in her screaming 'I'm a celebrity... get me out of here!', thus aborting the challenge.
I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! is broadcasted at 9pm on ITV every night.
