Pedro Pascal has become a daddy, and not just in real life! The Last of Us actor has become a sensation on social media, and he's not the only celebrity to embrace the term. In an interview with Spanish outlet SensaCine, the HBO star expressed his confusion over the phenomenon. "What's wrong with people who like an old man like me? I don't understand," he said in March 2023. "What has happened culturally? Focus on Harry Styles!"

The internet has also declared Harry Styles as "daddy", and the singer responded to the label during his Los Angeles concert in October 2022. When TikTok star Chris Olsen brought a sign that read "Daddy?" to the event, Harry jokingly asked the crowd, "Is that what you were screaming for?"

But back to Pedro. The Narcos star has spoken about the nickname in numerous interviews and admitted he's "having fun" with it. During a Drama Actors Roundtable with the Hollywood Reporter, the Chilean-born actor explained, "These are daddy parts. That's what it is."

When Jeff Bridges asked if he was a daddy in real life, Pedro replied, "I'm not a daddy and I'm not going to be a daddy." Succession actor Kieran Culkin chimed in, "I'm a daddy. Nobody likes my daddy parts. They like your daddy parts."

The concept of celebrity daddies has been around for a while, but it's become more mainstream with social media. Christopher Meloni, who has portrayed Elliot Stabler since 1999 on Law and Order: SVU, has been an internet daddy for just as long. "I just thought it was a cutie thing," he told Men's Health in August 2021. "How much am I allowed to taste of this fruit? How much am I allowed to enjoy this?"
