Top European Clubs Have Faith in Harry Kane's Loyalty to Tottenham
According to sources, several top clubs in Europe believe that Tottenham Hotspur will not be selling Harry Kane this summer. Kane has one year remaining on his contract with Spurs and is set to have discussions with the club's executives about his future after the 2022/23 season comes to a close.
Despite Tottenham's optimism going into the campaign, the team's performance was a major disappointment, finishing eighth in the Premier League, their lowest placement since 2008/09. Additionally, they were also eliminated early on in three cup competitions, making Kane one of the few bright spots on the team after scoring 30 Premier League goals, his joint-highest tally, and becoming both Tottenham and England's all-time highest scorers.
Previous reports from 90min suggest that Bayern Munich, Manchester United, and PSG would be interested in signing Kane, with Real Madrid potentially making a move should they part ways with Karim Benzema this summer. Tottenham is also preparing for Chelsea to enter the sweepstakes following Mauricio Pochettino's appointment as head coach.
However, sources now indicate that the belief across Europe is that Kane will not be leaving Spurs this summer. Although the striker has a year left on his contract, Tottenham would demand over £100m for him. Nevertheless, chairman Daniel Levy is not currently putting a price tag on Kane as he is unwilling to sanction an exit.
Should Kane remain at Tottenham for one more year, he would be able to depart on a free transfer in the summer of 2024 if he does not agree to new terms.
Many of Europe's top clubs are currently in search of a striker in the upcoming transfer window, with Napoli's Victor Osimhen and Juventus' Dusan Vlahovic being pursued by various sides.
