Erling Haaland and Sam Kerr have been named the FWA Footballer of the Year for the 2022/23 season.

Haaland, who plays as a forward for Manchester City, has had an exceptional season in English football. He has broken the record for the most goals scored in a single season in the Premier League, with an impressive 35 goals in just 32 games so far. This amazing feat surpasses the legendary English pair of Alan Shearer and Andy Cole, who both played 42-game campaigns and scored 34 goals in a single season.

Haaland's outstanding performance has earned him the FWA Footballer of the Year award, receiving 72% of the total votes cast by journalists across the country.

Joining Haaland as a fellow winner is Chelsea striker, Sam Kerr, who has become the first player to win back-to-back Women's Footballer of the Year awards. Kerr's outstanding performances have included scoring 10 WSL goals this season, beating out her rivals such as Rachel Daly and Lauren James in the vote, with twice as many votes as second-place Daly.

Erling Haaland and Sam Kerr will receive their respective awards on Thursday, May 25th, during the Footballer of the Year awards dinner at the Landmark Hotel in London.
