Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag is confident that the club can proceed with their transfer plans this summer, despite the uncertainty surrounding the ownership of the team.

Reports suggest that United's current owners, the Glazer family, have received significant bids from Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al-Thani and Sir Jim Ratcliffe – with the latter's offer reportedly preferred. However, there is still significant uncertainty around the takeover, with the Glazers' future at the club uncertain. The prolonged sale process has also sparked concerns about whether Ten Hag will receive the finances needed to strengthen the team this summer.

However, Ten Hag remains optimistic about his team's prospects and is confident that United can push forward with their transfer targets. "That's what I'm doing, and that's our job," he said in an interview with Sky Sports News. "This season that has to be our energy and focus, but of course we are also planning for the future, for next season, and that's what we have to do."

Despite the uncertainty surrounding the potential ownership change, Ten Hag believes United can secure their top transfer targets this summer. "Last year, the club confirmed they can do [transfers]. So, for me, I don't think anything changed, and yeah, in this summer period we can do the same," he said.

Among Ten Hag's top transfer targets is a new striker, with Tottenham's Harry Kane rumored to be the top choice. Victor Osimhen of Napoli, Dusan Vlahovic of Juventus, and Lautaro Martinez of Inter are also being considered as potential candidates for the position. The club is also reportedly interested in signing more than one forward.

Ten Hag is also looking to strengthen United's defense with a new center-back. Napoli's Kim Min-jae, who has a release clause of between €40m and €60m, is reportedly among the top targets.

On a recent episode of The Promised Land, part of the 90min podcast network, Scott Saunders and Rob Blanchette discussed the possibility of Neymar joining Manchester United, the upcoming match against Chelsea, and other topics.
