Sebastian Kehl, the sporting director of Borussia Dortmund, has stated that the club is preparing for 'different scenarios' amid questions surrounding the future of midfielder Jude Bellingham.

It is expected that the England international will complete a move to Real Madrid this summer after the Spanish club has been pursuing him. According to 90min, Bellingham has agreed on a six-year deal with Los Blancos. The transfer is expected to cost an initial €100m with an additional €50m in add-ons.

With this transfer in the works, BVB is now in need of a replacement as they aim to win the Bundesliga after losing the title on the final day of the 2023/24 season. Kehl has admitted that Bellingham's future will be decided soon. Speaking to Bild, Kehl said: 'I assume that there will now be movement in the personnel. We know that the player is of great value to us, that he has an ongoing contract with no release clause. Everything else will be revealed in the near future. We are preparing for different scenarios!'

In the 2022/23 Bundesliga season, Bellingham scored eight goals and contributed four more assists, but he was unable to play in the 2-2 draw with Mainz which helped Bayern usurp Dortmund in the German standings. There are fears that he may need knee surgery, potentially keeping him out of England's Euro 2024 qualifiers this summer. Gareth Southgate's squad will meet on the weekend of the Champions League final before fixtures with Malta and North Macedonia in Group C.

Previously, Kehl had been questioned about Bellingham's future and had asserted that the club's total focus was on the unsuccessful league bid.
