Chelsea showed improvement in their performance, but it still wasn't enough to overcome Real Madrid, who secured their spot in the Champions League semi-finals with a 2-0 win over the Blues. Rodrygo scored two goals in the second half to seal the victory for Real, leaving Stamford Bridge deflated once again due to Chelsea's inability to convert their chances.

Despite a strong start from Chelsea, including forcing Luka Modric into an error, they struggled to create clear-cut chances. N'Golo Kante missed an opportunity to take the lead, and Conor Gallagher had an offside goal ruled out. Meanwhile, Real had to work hard for any chances they had, with Thibaut Courtois making a great save to deny Marc Cucurella.

The second half started similarly, with Kante's shot blocked by Eder Militao. However, Real took the lead against the run of play when Rodrygo's cross was initially missed by Karim Benzema, but he made no mistake when the ball came back to him. Chelsea reacted by bringing on substitutes, but it was too little too late as Real scored a second through Rodrygo, with Federico Valverde providing the assist.

Vinicius Junior and Mykhailo Mudryk both missed one-on-one opportunities that were called back for offside towards the end of the game. Despite Courtois making a vital save, Real's defence held firm, with Militao receiving a booking that will see him suspended for the first leg of the semi-finals.
